Ian Geh has been the chair of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain & Ireland (ACPGBI) colorectal guidelines committee since 2013.
Writing as a team of 30 internationally and nationally renown UK experts in a wide range of specialties, including surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, palliative care physicians and clinical nurse specialists (CNS), they have extensively revised and developed the 2007 guidelines, based on the latest available evidence and on their expert consensus opinions.

The Guidelines for the Management of Cancer of the Colon, Rectum and Anus (2017) was published in the Colorectal Disease journal in July 2017 and is freely available to healthcare professionals and the public to download http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/codi.2017.19.issue-S1/issuetoc.
