Education & Training
Philippe Taniere graduated from the University Of Lyon, France, in 1990. He became a Specialist Registrar in Histopathology in 1991, and graduated in Histopathology in 1995. Between 1995 and 1998, he was a lecturer “Assistant des Hopitaux Universitaires” at the University Hospital E. Herriot and Heart/ Lung University Hospital, Lyon.
He then became a research fellow in the Unit of Molecular Carcinogenesis at the International Agency for Research on Cancer, Lyon.
He completed his PhD in 2002, titled “Molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis in upper gastrointestinal carcinomas, implication of TP53 gene”. In 2000, he became “Maitre de Conferences des Universites-Praticien Hospitalier” at the University Hospital E. Herriot and University of Lyon with a special interest in Gastrointestinal, Pancreato-biliary and Urological pathology.
Current Position
In 2002, he was appointed as Consultant in Histopathology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Medical School, Birmingham, with a special interest in gastro-intestinal and pancreatico-biliary pathology.
